A consumer reporting company can report most accurate negative info for seven years and insolvency information for 10 years. Information about a unpaid judgment against you can be reported for seven years or until the statute of limitations runs out, whichever is longer. There isn't any cutoff point on reporting info regarding criminal convictions; info reported replying to your request for a job that pays more than $75,000 a year; and info reported because you have applied for over $150,000 worth of credit or life insurance. There's a standard technique for figuring out the seven-year reporting period. Typically, the period runs from the date that the event happened.
